Joseph F. deMello, Attorney at Law

Attorney Joseph F. deMello, a distinguished lawyer based in Taunton, Massachusetts, founded the Law Office of Joseph F. deMello in 1986, later expanding to New Bedford and Fall River to serve the broader region. A summa cum laude B.S. graduate in Business Management from Bryant University and a cum laude Juris Doctor recipient from New England School of Law in 1985, he is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and Massachusetts Federal District Court. Fluent in Portuguese, deMello has held leadership roles, including past president of the Taunton Bar Association, founding president of the Portuguese American Bar Association, and chairman of Taunton’s Historic District Commission for over a decade. A member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys and the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys since 2004, he has also been recognized as Person of the Year by the Prince Henry Society of Massachusetts for his contributions to legal and community initiatives, including the International Sister Cities Program between Taunton and Angra, Terceira, Portugal.
